Flexible Impeller Pumps are versatile with severial common features:
The flexible impeller pump combines the priming features of positive displacement type pumps with the general transfer ability of centrifugals.
It wil pump either thin or viscus liquids and can handle more solids in suspension than other types of rotary pumps.
It can be mounted at any angle and will pump in either direction with equal efficiency.
Self-Priming: Pumps instantly with dry suction lifts to 10 feet, and up to 25' when wetted.
Simplicity: One movig part - tough, long-life, wear-resistant impeller
Flexibility: The flexible impeller pumps offers both high flow and high pressure according to motor and impeller design
Body material: Bronze
These pumps can be supplied with a number of differnt motor configurations. 12VDC, 24VDC, 115VAC & 230VAC options.
This type of pump is used where corrosion resistance plastic material is needed. With a Neoprene impeller it can be used for water and general purpose pumping. Or, by using a Nitrile Impeller it is ideal for oil based products.
Replacement impellers for flexible pumps are offered in several materials and various sizes. If you have the pump part number it is much more likely you will get the right parts
The following is information regarding the various types of compounds used in flexible impellers. This information is intended to allow you to make a more informed selection:
NEOPRENE is the standard impeller material used in most flexible impeller pumps. It offers a wide range of chemical resistant properites. Temperature range: 45 deg. F to 180 deg. F
NITRILE Impellers offer conpatibility wht oil products. It handles a wide range of oils, oil and water emulsions, diesel fuel, lower fraction hydrocarbons, kerosene, lubrication and machine cutting oil. Temperature range: 50 deg. F to 180 deg F.
VITON impellers are recommended when pumping hydrocarbons, solvents and severely corrosive chemicals. Temperature range: 60 deg. F to 180 deg. F. Note: viton is not recommended for low temperature or high pressure applications.
SANITARY NEOPRENE impellers are used in the hygienic flexible impeller pumps for applications pumping food, beverage and pharmaceutical products. Temperature range: 45 deg F to 165 deg F.
NATURAL RUBBER impellers are used in cold water applications. Temperature range: 22 deg. F to 120 deg. F.
SANITARY EPDM impellers are used for elevated temperature hygienic applications to 185 deg F. EPDM is compatible with some ketone solvents. Temperature range: 60 deg. F to 185 deg. F
